Continuous increase in gold prices
Despite decrease in the price of gold in the international market, its price increase in Pakistan was due to the sudden depreciation of Pakistani rupee against US dollar for the last couple of days, as the government and exchange companies have let dollar to free float. During the last two days, Pakistani rupee against dollar has depreciated about Rs32, resulting surge in the prices of gold.
On the previous day the gold prices in Pakistan witnessed an increase of Rs4,900 and reached to all-time high of over Rs 195,000. On Friday the subsequent increase took the price to above 200,000 rupees to mark another all time high in the history of the country.
