Gold Prices Decrease by Rs 1600 to Rs 200,000 Per Tola

ISLAMABAD: Gold prices witnessed a slight decrease in the domestic market of Pakistan on Saturday.

As reported by All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24 carats of gold went down by Rs1,600 per tola and that of 10 grams by Rs1,372 to settle at Rs200,000 and Rs171,468, respectively.

A couple of weeks back, gold prices reached an all-time high of Rs 210,500 per tola; however, after the rupee recovered, on hopes of revival of the $6.5 billion International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout program.

Meanwhile, refinancing from China made the situation a bit satisfactory, followed by statements from the finance minister. The country is still facing its worst economic quagmire.

Meanwhile, the prices of silver in the domestic market remained unchanged at Rs2,140 per tola and Rs1,834.70 per 10 grams, respectively.

Meanwhile, gold prices climbed to a two-week high as a pullback in the American dollar and Treasury yields offered some respite from prospects of more rate hikes from the Federal Reserve. The per-ounce gold price recorded a meager gain of $8, settling at $1,856.
