Gold Price Soars by Rs1,600, Reaches New High at 234,400 Per Tola

ISLAMABAD: After going down for about Rs 3400 in the last two days, the price of the yellow metal witnessed a significant jump as on Wednesday, per tola price of 24 karats of gold increased by Rs1,600 and was sold at Rs. 234,400 against Rs. 232,800 on Tuesday.

According to All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the rate of 10 grams of 24 karats of gold also went up by Rs 1,372 to settle at Rs. 100,960 from Rs. 199,588, while that of 10 grams of 22 karats of gold increased to Rs.184,214 from Rs.182, 956,

The price of silver witnessed no change during the last two days, however on Wednesday, the price of per tola silver declined by Rs.50 to Rs.2,800, and ten-gram of the white plate went down by Rs.42.87 to Rs.2,400.54

Gold Price at International Market

The price of the yellow plate in the international market went up by US$4 to settle at $1960 against $1954 the previous day. Last day price of gold in the global market also increased by $11. However, in Pakistan, the prices went down by Rs 1700, which was unprecedented.

The local market may fluctuate due to the country’s ongoing financial unrest. However, during the start of the current monthly price of gold in Pakistan reached Rs 2,40,000 per tola.
