Gold Price Downs further by Rs.500 to Settle at 204,400 Per Tola

ISLAMABAD: After continued downward trend, the price of the per tola precious metal of 24 karats of gold decreased by Rs500 and was available at Rs.204,000 on Wednesday against its sale at Rs. 204,500 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the price of 10 grams of 24 karats of gold also went down by Rs.429 to Rs.174,897 from Rs.175,326 whereas the price of 10 grams of 22 karats of gold decreased to Rs.160,322 from Rs.160,715, All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.

Unexpectedly, the price of per tola silver increased by Rs.70 to Rs2,550 whereas that of ten-gram silver went up by Rs.60 to Rs.2,186.21

Gold Price in International Market

Unlike the local market, the price of gold in the international market went up by $14 to settle at $1946 per ounce against $1932 the last ay.

The price of gold in the local market remained highly volatile in recent months due to certain reasons including, devaluation of local currency, political and financial unrest, high inflation, etc in the country. In May its price reached the highest Rs 2,40,000 per tola. However, from June 1st its decline in price started and now stood at the lowest during the last 5 to 6 months.
