ISLAMABAD: After the previous day’s decrease of Rs 300, the per tola price of 24 karats of gold went down further by Rs.1,300 to settle at Rs.220,000 in Pakistan on Wednesday compared to Rs.221,300 yesterday.
Meanwhile, according to All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the rates for the 10 grams of 24 karats of the precious metal went down by Rs.1,115 to close at Rs.188,614 from its last day sale of Rs.189,729 whereas the price of 10 grams of 22 karats of gold decreased to Rs.172,897 from Rs.173,918,
However, during the last couple of days, the rates for the per tola and ten-grams of the white plate (silver) witnessed no change and remained constant at Rs2,680 and Rs.2,297.66, respectively.
Gold Price in International Market.
Unlike the last day (having no change), the price of the yellow plate in the international market witnessed a fall and went down by $.12 to settle at $2,082 per ounce against $2,094 the last day.
The price of gold in the local bullion market is usually influenced by the rates in the international market. The last couple of days witnessed a significant increase (except the last two days) in the price of the yellow metal in the international market, affecting the local gold market. However, on Monday, despite no increase or decrease in the international market, the price in the local market went down due to some positive indicators from the stock and currency markets, followed by another fall on Wednesday.
