ISLAMABAD: After an unstoppable upward trend in gold prices during the last couple of weeks, where the precious metal hit a record of Rs 2,40,000, the last two days witnessed a significant decline in the prices. On Friday, the yellow plate per tola price of 24 karats declined by Rs 6,500 and was available at Rs 230,800 against Rs 237,00 last day. Earlier, the prices were down at Rs 27,00 per tola.
Meanwhile, the price of 10 grams of 24 karats of gold also went down by Rs 5,573 to Rs 197,874 against Rs 203,447 the last day, while the price of 10 grams of 22 karats of gold decreased to Rs 181,384 from its last day sale of Rs 186,393.
The price of per tola silver also witnessed a decline of Rs 300 to close at Rs 3,100, and that of 10-gram silver went down by Rs 257.21 to Rs 2,400.54, respectively.
Gold Price in International Market
The price of gold in the international market also went down by $33 to close at $2,005 against $2,038 the previous day, the Association reported. The major decrease in the price of gold in the local market was due to the appreciation of the local currency and a decrease in the gold price in the international market. APP
