ISLAMABAD: After having a honeymoon period for over a month, the gold rates in Pakistan are going up for the 4th consecutive day as the per tola price of 24 karats of the precious metal on Wednesday witnessed an increase of Rs 5,400 to settle at Rs 226,400 against Rs 221,000 the previous day.
As reported by All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the price of 10 grams of 24 karats of gold also went up by Rs4,630 to Rs 194,102 from Rs 189,472, whereas the price of 10 grams 22 karat gold increased to Rs 177,926 from Rs 173,683,
The price per tola and 10 grams of the white plate (silver) also increased by Rs 250 and Rs 214.34 to close at Rs 2900 and Rs 2486.28, respectively.
Like the local market, the price of the precious metal in the international market increased by $06 per ounce to settle at $1,973 against $1967 last day.
Volatile Gold Price in Pakistan
The price of gold remained volatile in the local market for the last couple of months. In May 2023 it reached the highest ever, Rs240,000 per tola, and during the second week of this month, came down to the lowest (during the last year) Rs2,04500 per tola. However, the last 4 days witnessed a major jump to take the price to Rs 226,400 per tola.
