Gilgit Baltistan Inks Deal on Conducting Recruitment Tests

ISLAMABAD: The Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) government on Tuesday signed an agreement with the Education Testing Council (ETC), Higher Education Commission whereby the Council will conduct recruitment tests in government departments.

The signing ceremony held at HEC Secretariat was attended by GB Chief Secretary Mohiyuddin Wani, CEO of ETC Iftekhar Mahmood and Executive Director HEC, Dr Shaista Sohail.

The participants voiced their hope that the agreement would help bring quality testing to the recruitment process in the public sector of Gilgit Baltistan enabling across-the-board merit enforcement and transparency.

GB Chief Secretary Mohiyuddin Wani said that the testing process required to be undertaken expeditiously to help start the long-awaited recruitment process.

Tests with accelerated effort in Gilgit Baltistan

CEO of ETC Iftikhar Mahmood reiterated the Council’s commitment to conduct tests in Gilgit Baltistan with an accelerated effort.

ETC has been established by the HEC under the mandate of its Ordinance as directed by the apex court. It is an autonomous body with oversight by its Board of Governors (BOG).
