Ghee Prices Slashed by Rs 18 Per Kg at Utility Stores

ISLAMABAD: The state-run Utility Stores Corporation (USC) reduced the prices of ghee by Rs18 per kilogramme (kg) in all its outlets across Pakistan, a media channel reported on Monday.
According to the report, quoting the spokesperson of USC who said the utility stores have announced a reduction of Rs18 per kg in the price of subsidised ghee for registered families under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).
The spokesperson further said that in line with the recent announcement, the subsidized ghee for BISP beneficiaries would now be available at Rs375 per kilogram against the previous price of Rs393 per kg.
In addition, other consumers would also benefit from the move where ghee would now be available for them at Rs445 per kilogram as compared to the previous price of Rs463.
Earlier, people were complaining about no or little difference in prices in the general market and USC and they were demanding the government to bring the price down at USC outlets.
