BERLIN: The German Government said on Saturday that the country’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz fell while jogging and also sustained bruises to his face.
A government spokesperson said that Olaf Scholz suspended all of his appointments for Sunday after the mishap. It added that the Chancellor’s schedule for the upcoming week is unaffected.
The government sources confirmed that the German Chancellor had “a minor sports accident.”
The German media cited SPD MP Michael Roth as saying that Scholz had cancelled a citizens’ dialogue function on Saturday as “he was not feeling well.”
However, the Bild newspaper claimed that he is feeling well but that the mark on his face is extensive enough to permit him to avoid public gatherings at the moment.
In a profile on his political party’s website, he reveals that he disliked sports activities during school days but later developed an appreciation for sports like jogging thanks to his wife.
