Germany Delegation Visits Pakistan’s Parliament House

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of 20 members from Global Bridges, a non-profit organization based in the Federal Republic of Germany, on Monday visited Pakistan’s Parliament House in Islamabad.
Led by Dr. Hans Albrecht, the delegation comprised German entrepreneurs, academics, intellectuals, doctors, and other professionals. The purpose of the visit, as stated in a news release, was to gain firsthand knowledge of Pakistan’s parliamentary functions.
During the visit, they were provided with a detailed briefing on Pakistan’s parliamentary system by Special Secretary (Special Initiatives) Syed Shamoon Hashmi. The briefing covered the functions and historical context of the parliamentary system in Pakistan.
Moreover, the delegation was briefed on the functions of the National Assembly, including its standing committees and special parliamentary forums such as the Sustainable Development Goals, Women Parliamentary Caucus, Young Parliamentary Forum, and Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights.
The delegation expressed appreciation for the comprehensive presentation and actively participated in a question-and-answer session. They also had the opportunity to tour the National Assembly Hall and other areas of the Parliament.
The delegation commended the pictorial display showcasing Pakistan’s political and parliamentary history, among other aspects, during their tour.
