BERLIN, Germany: In a decisive move aimed at combating extremism and safeguarding society, the German government officially prohibited the Artgemeinschaft group on Wednesday.
This far-right organization, notorious for indoctrinating children, faced police raids targeting numerous residences and affiliated structures in the early hours.
The German interior ministry released a statement detailing the ban on Artgemeinschaft, an anti-democratic association comprising approximately 150 members. Alongside the main group, all sub-organizations, including Gefaehrtschaften, Gilden, Freundeskreise, and Familienwerk e.V., were also included in the ban.
Interior Minister Nancy Faeser expressed, “We are banning a sectarian, deeply racist, and antisemitic association. This is another hard blow against right-wing extremism and those who persist in spreading Nazi ideologies today.” Faeser emphasized the organization’s attempts to indoctrinate children and youth with their anti-democratic ideology.
The ministry’s statement underscored that Artgemeinschaft manipulated a pseudo-religious Germanic belief in gods to disseminate their Nazi worldview. The central objective of the group was to promote and preserve their own ‘kind,’ aligning with the National Socialist concept of ‘race.’
Furthermore, the group’s ideologies and activities exhibited stark parallels to the infamous Nazi regime. The group not only advocated racial doctrines but also promoted discriminatory practices against individuals from different ethnic backgrounds.
The ministry further revealed that the Artgemeinschaft group instructed its members on selecting a ‘suitable spouse’ within the Northern and Central European ‘human kind’ to propagate the ‘correct’ genetic makeup, as per their racist ideology. People from diverse origins were denigrated based on their racial backgrounds.
Early morning raids were executed across 12 states, during which the police conducted searches in 26 apartments belonging to 39 group members, along with the organization’s clubhouses.
This recent ban on Artgemeinschaft follows the German government’s recent action against the neo-Nazi group Hammerskins Germany, underscoring a concerted effort to counter the rise of right-wing extremism and its detrimental influence across Europe.
