ROME: A group of German tourists has been blamed by an Italian citizen for damaging a 150-year-old statue at a villa in northern Italy.
According to Western media reports, the tourists toppled the expensive artwork while taking pictures for social media.
Two of the group members stepped into a fountain to pose for pictures with “Domina” by the artist Enrico Butti making the statue fall on the ground.
Bruno Golferini, the manager of Villa located in Viggiu, said he has filed a complaint with the police against the 17 German tourists.
It is reported that German tourists involved in the incident have already left Italy.

The statue worth 200,000 euros ($218,000) was 150 years old and 1.70 meters high
He said the ignorant people did not know the value of the piece of art.
In June this year, an English tourist was seen on social while writing on the wall of the Colosseum in Rome.
