GENEVA: Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN) in Geneva has been awarded the top spot in the ‘social media engagement’ category at the international 9th Geneva Engage Awards.
Held by the Diplomatic Foundation – a Swiss-Maltese non-governmental organisation, the awards ceremony recognized the nominees in various categories encompassing international organizations, non-governmental organizations and associations, permanent representations, effective and innovative events and accessibility awards.
Among the recipients were several other permanent missions, including those representing the European Union, France, Italy, Norway, Kazakhstan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, among others.
Bilal Ahmad, Pakistan’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, attributed the accolade to the dedicated efforts of his mission team and acknowledged the contributions of his predecessor, now serving as Pakistan’s ambassador in Beijing, Khalil Hashmi.
The ambassador commended the steadfast commitment of Pakistan’s Foreign Office to public and digital diplomacy, emphasizing its positive impact and results. Expressing gratitude, he extended thanks to the Diplomatic Foundation for the recognition bestowed upon Pakistan’s mission. —APP
