General Elections: PPP leads in Sindh as Per Unofficial Results

KARACHI: The unofficial results of different national and provincial assemblies in Sindh are being received, hinting that the Pakistan People’s Party is leading in the majority of the constituencies.

As per unofficial and unconfirmed results, former Chief Minister Sindh and PPP candidate Syed Murad Ali Shah emerged victorious from PS-77. Syed Murad Ali Shah claimed 67513 votes followed by GDA’s Roshan Ali who secured 7000 votes.

PPP’s Sharjeel Inam Memon won the election from PS-61 Hyderabad with 63756 votes followed by JUI-F’s candidate who secured 11889 votes.

According to ECP, PPP candidate Sadiq Ali Memon won from NA-225 Thatta with 140,773 votes. ECP announced that PPP candidate Nazeer Ahmed Bughio has also won NA-195 (Larkana), after gathering a total of 133,830 votes. GDA’s Safdar Ali Abbasi came in 2nd with 48,893.

PPP’s Makhdoom Jameel-uz-Zaman has won from NA-216 Matiari with 124,536 votes, ECP announced.

PPP candidate Ali Gohar Khan has been successful with 154,832 votes in NA-199 Ghotki.  PPP leader Mehboob Ali Khan Bijarani has also secured victory in PS-6 Kashmore III with 86,365 votes. Ali Nawaz Khan Mahar won from PS-21 with 63,578 votes. The ECP said that PPP candidate Sohail Anwar also won from PS-12 Larkana.

A local news channel reported that former president Asif Ali Zardari has left Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah) for Islamabad after voting in the general elections in the country.

Earlier, talking to the media, Asif Zardari said that the future of his party is bright and it is hoped that the PPP will clean sweep the polls. He added that PPP has given a people-friendly manifesto and no other party has given people-friendly manifesto.
