GENEVA: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries have called upon the international community to take necessary measures to end war in Gaza strip, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
The GCC countries completely rejected any justification or excuse for continued Israeli military offensive in Gaza.
They urged the international community to ensure the permanent delivery of humanitarian assistance, and hold accountable those committing humanitarian violation against the Palestinian people.
The joint statement came on Tuesday by the GCC countries, represented by Qatar at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) interactive dialogue with special rapporteur Francesca Albanese on the situation Gaza.
Qatar stated that the Israel’s use of the weapon of starvation, stopping access to humanitarian assistance, and threatening to attack Rafah, cannot be tolerated.
The GCC urged the global community to overcome double standards and stop the genocide and serious violations carried out by the Israeli killing machine against the people of Palestine.
Additionally, the GCC countries lauded the efforts of the special rapporteur in documenting the Israeli crimes, denounced any attempts to hinder her work, and called upon the rapporteur to continue her role entrusted to her by the UNHRC.
