The GCC Secretary General said that this escalation constitutes a violation of global law and humanitarian law, as well as the resolution of the UNGA issued on October 27, 2023, which calls for an urgent ceasefire and the implementation of a humanitarian truce that preserves the lives of civilians and permits humanitarian help and relief to enter the Gaza Strip without delay, the SPA added.

According to the SPA, the Secretary General emphasized that the absence of a political settlement has led to the worsening of situation and the destruction of infrastructure and vital interests in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need for the world, particularly the UNSC to fulfill its duties in achieving security and peace in the Middle East.
