RIYADH: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has strongly condemned the brutal Israeli occupation attack on the Nuseirat camp in the Gaza Strip calling on the global community to stop these repeated crimes.
Secretary-General of GCC Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi in a statement on Sunday said the attack during which the occupation forces slaughtered and injured hundreds of defenseless Palestinian civilians is a heinous and terrorist crime.
He added that the barbaric aggression shows the true face of the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and exposes their complete disregard for all global conventions and humanitarian values, noting that this heinous crime is part of a series of attacks carried out by Israel, which systematically targets Palestinians.
The statement urged the international community to assume its moral and historical responsibilities and take immediate and decisive action to stop these horrific and repeated crimes against the brotherly people of Palestine.
The statement also stressed that the GCC countries stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle for freedom and their right to live in peace.
The statement reiterated the strong positions of the GCC member countries regarding the Palestinian cause, and their support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian State on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to the Arab Peace Initiative and international legitimacy resolutions.
