GILGIT: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said that the problems of Gilgit Baltistan will be solved through constitutional means and no ‘hostage group’ will be able to push its agenda.
“The One Nation One Law rule will be implemented and there should be no doubt about that,” he told reporters while inaugurating a dispensary at the Cardiac Hospital here on Wednesday.
The caretaker prime minister said it was the state’s responsibility to ensure people’s rights. All efforts would be made to solve the problems of the people of GB and ensure a dignified life, he added.
He promised to focus on harnessing the GB’s economic potential through the tourism and energy sectors.
Kakar said GB’s road infrastructure will be enhanced to improve its connectivity with the rest of the country.
He mentioned holding detailed meetings with local stakeholders and emphasized the importance of eliminating mutual misunderstandings.
About the financial problems faced by Gilgit Baltistan University, he said after a discussion with the Vice-Chancellor, the Finance Division has been directed to intervene.
As an inclusive approach, the Prime Minister said he had directed the Caretaker Information Minister to telecast TV talk shows on Pakistan Television in Gilgit and Shina languages twice a week.
Before that, Kakar toured various departments of the hospital where he was briefed about the medical facilities.
The 50-bed hospital includes emergency care, an intensive care unit, a pediatric ward, cardiac surgery and treatment sections. The hospital was said to be fully operational by June 2024.
Caretaker Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti, Information Minister Murtaza Solangi, GB Chief Minister and senior officials were present.
