GILGIT: The Government of Gilgit-Baltistan has decided to introduce elementary language courses in all government primary schools, aiming to promote cultural and linguistic understanding.
Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan Muhiudeen Wani revealed that these courses will primarily teach the fundamental aspects of Shina, Balti, and Burushaski languages.
Under this initiative, Balti will be included in the curriculum for schools in the Gilgit and Diamer Astore divisions.

At the same time, Shina and Burushaski will become part of the educational program in the Baltistan division.
To facilitate the implementation of these language courses, the existing teaching staff will receive training to execute them starting from the next academic session.
