GAZA: The Hamas-run government media office has alleged Israel of lying regarding evidences found in Al-Shifa hospital in the Gaza Strip. Ismail Al Thawabta, the director of the Gaza Government Media office dismissed Israel’s accusations that Hamas’s equipment was found in the hospital.

Israel claims its personnel have uncovered what the military is calling “military equipment used by Hamas” during an incursion at Al-Shifa hospital. Al Thawabta stated Israel failed to present evidence despite the “entire world” expecting “that Israeli army was going to present maps of the Hamas command and control centers.”

Similarly, a member of Hamas’ political office, Izzat al-Risheq, alleged Israel of “staging a disgraceful play” with the attack, in a statement on social media. Both Thawabta and Risheq alleged Israel of fabricating the evidences showed.

Earlier, on Wednesday, Israeli troops claimed that it had uncovered “concrete evidence that Hamas used the Shifa hospital as a headquarters,” promising to show the evidence later.

Israel is under high global pressure to prove its claims regarding Hamas’s infiltration of the hospital, to justify some of its military acts — which could otherwise establish a possible grave violation of global humanitarian law.

There is surely no sign yet that Israeli troops have uncovered a multi-level tunnel structure with underground chambers — of the kind exemplified in an animation presented by Israeli army spokesperson at a briefing about three weeks ago.
