GAZA CITY: The death toll in the Gaza Strip from the ongoing Israeli attacks has risen to 9,227, including 3,826 children and 2,405 women, the Health Ministry in Gaza reported on Friday.

Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra, speaking at a news conference in Gaza City, disclosed that an additional 23,516 people had been injured, with 2,100 still trapped under the rubble, including 1,200 children.

The Israeli attacks have taken a devastating toll on Gaza’s healthcare system, with 136 medics dead and 25 ambulances destroyed. Al-Qudra revealed that 16 massacres were documented within the past 24 hours, resulting in 196 victims, bringing the total number of massacres committed by the Israeli occupation forces to 997.

Israeli Brutalities in Gaza Against Palestinians

Furthermore, Israeli forces have targeted more than 102 healthcare facilities in Gaza since October 7, despite international rules of war that exempt such facilities from attacks. “Some 16 hospitals and 32 primary care centers were forced out of service due to the Israeli assault and fuel shortage,” al-Qudra added.

This week, the Israeli army expanded its air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip, intensifying the violence that has persisted since October 7. The Israeli attacks have led to the martyrdom of more than 9,061 innocent Palestinians.

Apart from the alarming casualty numbers and mass displacement of people, the residents of Gaza, numbering 2.3 million, are grappling with severe shortages of basic supplies due to the Israeli blockade, exacerbating an already dire humanitarian crisis.

International efforts to halt the violence and bring about a peaceful resolution to the conflict have so far yielded limited results, leaving the people of Gaza caught in a devastating cycle of violence and despair.
