AMMAN: Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi has announced the immediate recall of the Jordanian envoy to Israel.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, (SPA) the decision stands as a strong representation of Jordan’s condemnation and rejection of the raging Israeli war on Gaza, which has led to the killing of innocent people and an unparalleled humanitarian crisis.
Gaza War: Jordan Recalls Envoy from Israel
In a statement, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry said that there are increasing concerns over the situation escalating further, possibly risking the security of the entire region and world peace.
Moreover, Ayman Safadi issued directives to the relevant department within the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to notify the Israeli foreign ministry that its envoy, who had earlier departed from Jordan, should not return for the time being.
The return of envoy, Safadi emphasized, hinges upon Israel stopping its war in Gaza, preventing the resulting humanitarian disaster, and refraining from acts that deprive Palestinians their basic rights, including access to water, food, and medicine, as well as a stable and secure life on their national land.

The FM expressed that his country remains committed to working for an end to the ongoing war on Gaza, facilitating the provision of humanitarian help, protecting civilian population, and defending the region from any further disastrous fallout.
The Jordanian Foreign Minister underlined the urgency of reaching a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, which also envisions a sovereign and an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital along the lines of June 4, 1967. This, the Jordan’s Foreign Minister stressed, is the sole path to ensure peace and security for all nations and peoples in the region.
