DOHA: Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has said that truce talks are deadlocked, adding Israel’s offensive in Rafah has sent things backwards. He was speaking an event in Doha on Tuesday.
Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani said that his country has not stopped talks between Hamas and Israel, despite issues and challenges, and will continue to do so. He further said that if the war continues, Hamas’s office in Doha, Qatar will remain open.
The latest developments take place as Gaza Health Ministry said that about 35,173 people have been killed in the territory during more than seven months of war between Hamas and Israel.
In a statement, it added that the toll includes around 82 deaths over the last 24 hours. It said that more than 79,061 people have been injured in Gaza since October 7. A UN staff member has also been killed in an attack in Rafah, after the vehicle they were travelling in came under attack. According to local media, the Israeli army is believed to have conducted the strike, but it is yet to confirm whether its troops were responsible for the killing.
