Gandhara Art Exhibition to Promote Pak-China Common Heritage: Fareena Mazhar

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan-China joint exhibition on Gandhara art and culture being organized in Palace Museum will help promote the common heritage and enhance people-to-people contact between the two friendly countries, Fareena Mazhar, Federal Secretary of National Heritage and Culture said on Sunday.

Over 173 Gandhara artefacts collected from Pakistan’s different museums were showcased at the 3-month-long exhibition jointly held by the Palace Museum and Department of Archaeology and Museums of Pakistan and assisted by Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, she told APP.

Importance of exhibition

Highlighting the importance of this exhibition as a historical event in the cultural cooperation between the two friendly countries, she voiced hope that it would be beneficial not only to the masses but also to Chinese professionals and scholars to understand the cultural heritage of Pakistan.

Fareena Mazhar said that this is the first exhibition in China that the Division has done, so it was a moment of pride and it was hoped to organize more events in the future.

On the basis of this exhibition, vast cooperation in the protection of cultural relics and personnel exchanges between the two countries would be carried out, which will further contribute to the friendship, she added.
