BAGH: Advisor to the Prime Minister on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Qamar Zaman Kaira, said on Monday that India could not disguise the worst human rights situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IIOJK) by hosting the G-20 summit in the valley.

In an interview during his tour, he said that by holding the G-20 summit in IIOJK, India hopes to send a message to the world that everything is well in the valley, but it will be a pointless exercise on New Delhi’s part.

Kaira criticized India for having ulterior goals behind the summit, which was designed to deceive and mislead the entire world. He continued to say that the Modi government’s objective was to lower the morale of the people of Occupied Kashmir by instilling fear in them.

He emphasized that the Kashmiri people’s undying spirit of liberation remained unwavering and that the entire Pakistani nation stood together in solidarity with their Kashmiri siblings. He said the whole Pakistani nation, led by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, criticized the G-20 summit.

Several countries not attending the G20 summit

According to Kaira, several countries have decided not to participate in the debate. He was categorical in his opposition to India’s choice to hold the G-20 summit in the disputed area.

According to the advisor, India has been suppressing Kashmiris by using force and propaganda, as well as denying their fundamental rights. The primary objective was to deprive them of their identity and to crush their unwavering determination. He said that Kashmiris had never submitted to Indian domination and would never do so.

He said the international community should take a constructive role in settling the Kashmir issue through United Nations resolutions. He continued to say that if the international community had played its proper role in the past, the situation in IIOJK would have been different.

Kaira said overseas Pakistanis and Kashmiris would continue to highlight the suffering of Kashmiris around the world to shake the world’s conscience.
