RAWALPINDI: The funeral prayer for Havildar, who embraced Shahadat during an exchange of fire with terrorists in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday, was held in his native hometown, Mardan.
The media affairs wing of the Pak Army ISPR said in a statement that Havildar Muhammad Zahir, aged 41 years, had embraced Shahadat on 08 January 2024 in North Waziristan District.
The martyr was laid to rest with full military honor. Senior serving military officers, relatives of the martyr and locals of the area attended the funeral.
The ISPR statement read that the Armed Forces of Pakistan stand resolute and committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism from the motherland at all costs.
The ISPR, in a statement yesterday, said that a Pakistan Army soldier was martyred in an intense exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in the North Waziristan district of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The ISPR reported that the firefight occurred in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, leading to the apprehension of one terrorist in an injured condition. However, during the intense exchange of fire, Havildar Muhammad Zahir, aged 41 and a resident of Mardan district, fought gallantly and embraced martyrdom.
