ISLAMABAD: Outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, reflecting on his professional career, stated that while his judgments may not have been liked by every person, they were always based on the law, local media reported on Friday.
He while addressing the full court reference in his honor, delivered a speech in Urdu, expressing his gratitude to all those present on the occasion.
He said “I will not discuss the constitution or law today,” he thanked Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, Farooq H. Naek, and others for their support. The outgoing CJP extended his gratitude to those who couldn’t participate in the event.
Remembering his personal life, he about losing his father at the age of 16 as well as highlighted the influence of his grandmother, who, despite being uneducated, ensured the best education for her kids.

He has also acknowledged the important role of his wife, saying that she supported him through every challenge.
Justice Isa, who worked in the judiciary for more than 42 years, also shared his experiences from the bar and bench, thanking lawyers for teaching him priceless lessons. He also credited ex-Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry for appointing him as the Chief Justice of Balochistan.
Reflecting on his career, he admitted that some judgments might not have been faultless. “Our verdicts may favor one side and go against another, but we always follow the law,” he said. He said with a smile, “Only a few hours of freedom remain for me.”
Speaking on the occasion, the next Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi, expressed admiration for the outgoing CJP Qazi Faez Isa, calling him a “remarkable person” who led the judiciary through an impactful era.
