ISLAMABAD: In a beautiful blend of cultures and continents, a love story blossomed across the digital realm and culminated in a heartfelt union in the scenic Upper Dir district of Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Mindy, a flight attendant from Chicago, has tied the knot with Sajid Zeb Khan, a native of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after two years of friendship on Facebook.
The couple solemnised their nikah ceremony just last night, marking the beginning of a new chapter. In a touching gesture, Mindy embraced Islam and chose the name Zulekha, symbolising her deep respect for her new roots.
Sajid shared with a private news channel the joy this marriage has brought to his family. “We signed the marriage contract last night,” he said with pride, “and Mindy’s arrival has filled our home with happiness.”
The American bride’s journey to Pakistan began just a day before the wedding. After landing at Islamabad International Airport, she was warmly received by Sajid and swiftly whisked away to the serene valley of Usheri Dara in Upper Dir.
The locals embraced her warmly, welcoming this cross-cultural bond with open arms.
Their story traces back to a chance encounter on Facebook two years ago. What began as a simple online connection soon blossomed into a heartfelt relationship, leading Mindy to take the bold step of proposing to Sajid.
“We informed our families about our decision,” Sajid explained, “and everything fell into place.”
In a video message from Sajid’s home, Mindy shared her admiration for Pakistan, saying, “My name is Mindy, and I’m from America. This is my first time in Pakistan, and it’s such a beautiful, peaceful country. I came for Sajid Khan, and we plan to marry soon.”
