PARIS: French News Agency (AFP) has filed a case in France against Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) over a copyright violation.
In a statement, the leading news agency said a case had been lodged to pressurize the social media platform to hand over the data to allow the AFP to analyze a fair level of compensation.
It said that AFP has always been concerned about neighbouring rights of the press.
The Agency continued that it would use all legal means to safeguard the fair dispersal of the value generated by the news content.
Meanwhile, Meta in Canada has stopped Facebook and Instagram users from seeing content under a new law on content compensation.
American multinational technology company Google has also warned to take similar action against X.
