ISLAMABAD: French Photographer Ferrante Ferranti presented his 40-year photographic exploration of civilizations “From Troy to Lahore” at French embassy in Islamabad.
The exhibition provides a window into Ferranti’s extensive global travels, drawing inspiration from the epic tales of The Odyssey and The Iliad as well as the works of Swiss writer and poet Nikola Bouvier.
Ferranti’s images have appeared in more than 60 books and been exhibited in a number of international cultural organizations, such as the Maison Open de la Photographie in Paris.
The current exhibition at the French embassy in Islamabad offers a short sample of Ferranti’s extensive portfolio, highlighting his recent exploration of Pakistan. Last year, Ferranti participated in the Lahore Literary Festival and returned to Pakistan in July to further explore beauty of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan. Ferranti emphasized the significance of his visit to Pakistan, citing the country’s rich history and cultural heritage as a source of inspiration for his work.
On the occasion, Ferrante Ferranti expressed gratitude to the embassy and the cultural section for their collaboration. He reflected on his journey, drawing parallels to the travels of historical figures like Alexander the Great and Nicola Bouvier.
