ISLAMABAD: With a little help from Brad Pitt — there are small corners of French paradise that draw rockstars from Britain and the United States to record their masterpieces.

France has long had famous music studios that have attracted both local talent and foreign bands with the hope that some of the country’s artistic heritage will influence them, according to an AFP report.

Few have fallen into disrepair, for instance, the famous Herouville chateau where Iggy Pop, Elton John, and David Bowie recorded in the 1970s.

Super Bear Studios welcomed Queen, Paul McCartney, and Kate Bush before being fire destroyed it in the 1980s.

However, others are getting a fresh lease of life.

Brad Pitt got Miraval studio revamped

Miraval, a villa in the sun-kissed region of Provence, opened its studio in 1977 and had witnessed Pink Floyd record part of “The Wall”, along with albums by The Cure, AC/DC,  and Muse.

It was largely abandoned, but in 2008 it was purchased by Pitt and then-wife Angelina Jolie.

Despite a bitter divorce fight, Pitt oversaw the music studio’s renovation with the aid of sound engineer Damien Quintard, who is French.

Quintard explained that one day, he received a message from Brad Pitt, who wanted to see me the coming week. He added he had thought it was a joke.

Pitt, who himself is an amateur guitarist, speaking to Billboard said that it was pretty dank in there as  it had not been touched since the 1970s or the 80s. Thus, it required a cuddle.

The 1st artist to use the revamped, ultra-swish studio following its reopening in the summer of 2022 was Sade, who had recorded her 1st and 3rd albums there in the 1980s.
