PARIS: France has implemented asset freezes on Yahya Sinwar, the Gaza chief of the Palestinian resistance group, as revealed in a decree published in the official journal of the country.
This decision follows France’s imposition of national sanctions on Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif and his deputy, Marwan Issa, on November 13. The sanctions are part of France’s broader efforts to target key figures within Hamas.
French authorities are actively collaborating with allies to extend these sanctions to the European Union level. Diplomats have indicated that France aims to target individuals associated with Hamas and its financial network in an effort to curb the group’s activities.
