ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Health has reported a fourth case of Monkeypox in Peshawar, involving a 47-year-old individual from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The patient, who arrived from the Gulf countries, was isolated on August 29 by Border Health Services staff following the presentation of symptoms.
National Coordinator for Health Dr. Mukhtar Bharath emphasized that robust screening systems are in place at all airports to prevent the spread of Mpox. He assured that the federal and provincial governments are closely coordinating their efforts to manage the situation effectively.
The Ministry of Health is actively monitoring the outbreak and ensuring timely interventions. Both the ministry and provincial authorities are committed to implementing preventive measures to safeguard public health and curb the spread of the virus.
