MUMBAI: This week, a persistent cold wave accompanied by dense fog in parts of northern India has led to disruptions in flights for the fourth consecutive day. Over 100 flights were delayed, and approximately 20 had to be canceled on Wednesday.

Weather authorities are predicting an additional five days of fog, with minimum temperatures in New Delhi, the capital, and Uttar Pradesh ranging from 2 degrees Celsius to 5 degrees Celsius (35.6 degrees Fahrenheit to 41 degrees Fahrenheit) on Tuesday.

According to the aviation website Flightradar24, Delhi’s airport experienced 109 delayed flights and 19 cancellations. The ongoing low visibility caused by the fog has resulted in widespread air traffic chaos, affecting hundreds of flights departing from New Delhi, either experiencing delays or cancellations.
