MUZAFFARABAD: According to authorities and witnesses, four young students drowned in the Neelum River on Saturday while having a dip to beat the heat.
The four students were in their first and second years of college and had gathered to have a bath in the river, when two of them slid and the other two ran after them to save them, according to eyewitnesses.
Adeel Afzal, 17, Yasir Bashir, 17, Basit Mughal, 18, and Shahid Pervez, 19, all from Kel in the upper belt of Neelum Valley, met a tragic end. Rescuers from the Jammu Kashmir United Movement have retrieved two bodies.
The bodies of Adeel Afzal and Shahid Pervez have been discovered, while the other two are still missing.
