Four Policemen Die in Gun Battle with Terrorists in Quetta

QUETTA: An intelligence-based operation in Quetta in the early hours of Tuesday turned deadly with at least four policemen losing their lives in a gun battle with the terrorists, local media reported.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Quetta, Capt (retd) Zuhaib Moshin, the operation was launched to neutralise terrorists involved in past attacks on security forces in Kuchlak. The operation was conducted in cooperation with Frontier Constabulary personnel.

During the operation, the law-enforcement personnel surrounded a house in Kuchlak, from where the terrorists opened fire on the personnel, resulting in the tragic loss of four of them, the SSP said. The personnel retaliated and resultly one of the terrorists was killed.

The police recovered weapons and ammunition from the deceased terrorist while the SSP said he could have been involved in the attack on police officers two days back, as well as an attack on the Frontier Constabulary a week ago.
