QUETTA: At least four persons were injured in a grenade blast on Sabzal Road in Quetta, the capital city of Pakistan’s Balochistan province, here on Sunday, Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo said in a statement.
The Chief Minister condemned the attack and directed the provincial police chief to enhance security arrangements in the city.
Media coordinator of Balochistan Health Department, Dr Waseem Baig, later in a media talk, confirmed that four people had been injured in the incident.
Earlier, he said that the condition of one of the injured people was critical.

CM Bizenjo, in his statement, also directed the provincial police to continue intelligence-based operations against terrorists to ensure lasting peace.
He further instructed that the best medical facilities be provided to the injured.
Balochistan Minister for Home Affairs Mir Ziaullah Langove also strongly condemned the incident and summoned a report from concerned authorities.
“The security of entry and exit routes should be tightened,” he ordered.
Today’s incident occurred when Pakistan continues to face the increasing threat of terrorism, including incidents involving groups and elements said to be operating from inside Afghanistan since the militant group Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan called off its ceasefire with the Pakistani government in late November.
On Saturday, CM Bizenjo presided over a meeting to discuss Balochistan’s law and order situation.
During the meeting, it was decided that strong measures would be taken to eliminate terrorism, and directed security agencies to keep a vigilant eye on the activities of the banned organizations.
