ISLAMABAD: The Four-day Capital Book Fair organized by the Department of Libraries in partnership with other stakeholders concluded on Tuesday in Islamabad after receiving an overwhelming response from the visitors.
The book fair was organized at the Art and Craft Village on the special directives of Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman CDA Captain (Retd) Muhammad Usman Younis.
The chief commissioner of Islamabad also visited the book fair and further stressed the need to promote book culture in society, saying, “books are the best companions for everyone, and every intellectual acknowledges the reality that there is no friend better than books.”
Over 60 book stalls were set up at the Capital Book Fair with the books of famous publishers, poets, writers, and famous personalities of the country.
Book fair attracts large number of visitors
The book fair offered a vast number of books at a discounted price. It was visited and appreciated by people from different walks of life, including students, writers, and researchers.
The objectives behind arranging this book fair were to revive the book-reading habit among the masses, especially youth, and preserve our literary and cultural heritage.
Book lovers, especially students and researchers from the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, visited the book fair to quench their thirst for education and knowledge.
The visitors also appreciated the organizers’ efforts to arrange a such event and said such activities helped promote positive and healthy activities among people.
