Four Alleged Terrorists Held in Punjab

LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab claimed to have arrested four alleged terrorists from a banned outfit during operations across the province on Wednesday.

According to the CTD spokesman, CTD teams conducted 27 intelligence-based operations in various districts of the province and arrested 27 suspects, four of whom were identified as Abdul Ghafoor, Zubair, Zahid Ali, and Naimatullah, alleged terrorists of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

Explosives Recovered from Terrorists

From their possession, the teams captured 1.799 kg of explosives, an IED bomb, six detonators, a six-foot safety fuse wire, four prohibited books from a prohibited organization, four stickers, a mobile phone, and Rs 4830 in cash.

The alleged terrorists intended to damage the province, targeting important installations and other religious places. Four cases were filed against the alleged terrorists in Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, and Sheikhupura, and they were shifted to an unknown location.

According to the spokesman, 166 combing operations were carried out this week with the help of local police and security services; 8218 people were checked, 22 suspects were arrested, 21 FIRs were registered, and 15 recoveries were made.
