MUZAFFARABAD: The 77th Founding Day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is being celebrated today, according to local media reports.
The day is being celebrated with a renewed pledge to continue the struggle until the freedom of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and accession of the entire territory to Pakistan, local media reported. The Founding Day is also celebrated in commemoration of freedom from the Dogra regime on the 24th of Oct. in 1947.

According to media reports, special ceremonies will also take place at all district and tehsil headquarters, paying rich tribute to the formation of the AJK government on October 24, 1947, after the liberation of the region from Dogra regime.
A grand flag-hoisting ceremonies are being held in Muzaffarabad, the state capital, and other areas. The celebrations feature the cutting of a special anniversary cake, with well-dressed contingents from the Boy Scouts, AJK Police, civil defense volunteers, and Rescue 1122 saluting the AJK flag during the events.
Communities on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) as well as those across the world, are also preparing to celebrate the 77th Founding Day, reinforcing their resolve to the current struggle for self-determination.
This annual event also commemorates the establishment of the AJK government, created 77 years ago following a successful resistance against oppressive regime, and remains a symbol of the region’s enduring fight for independence and freedom.
