The racer will partner with British-born Thai driver Alexander Albon as a first-team driver, replacing Nicholas Latifi of Canada.
The sergeant said it was a “huge honour” and a “dream come true” to be given the opportunity on williamsf1.com.
In addition, he lauded Williams Racing and Dorilton Motor Sports for their support.
The British Formula One team had acknowledged in September that Latifi would depart the team at the 2022 season’s end.
The American driver, 21, finished fourth in the Formula 2 championship with 148 points, two victories, and two other podium appearances. — AA/APP
