Former DC’s Son Allegedly Kills Policeman in Karachi

ISLAMABAD: The son of a former deputy commissioner allegedly killed a policeman following an altercation between the two in Defence Housing Authority late Monday night.

Martyred personnel Abdul Rehman and his colleague followed the suspected shooter, Khurram Nisar, and spoke to him after allegedly noticing suspicious activity. According to the Sindh police, Nisar came to Karachi from Sweden on November 5. He lives there with two children and his wife.

DIG South Irfan Baloch said that the cop accompanying Rehman recorded his statement, according to which they saw Nisar forcing a woman to sit in the car near Boat Basin. Furthermore, Baloch said that when the cops approached Nisar, the woman fled while they tried to control him but couldn’t get his gun as he resisted.

DIG said that the policemen tried to take Nisar to Darakhshan Police Station, but he increased the speed of his car. At this, Rehman tried to stop Nisar, and both of them got out of the car. He added that the two argued and pulled their guns on each other.

Police raided Nisar’s house and recovered documents, weapons, and the vehicle used during the shooting. The house watchman was also under police custody. The police said that his friends’ houses were being searched, and police provided pictures of Nisar and all their travel documents across airports.

SSP South Asad Raza said that if they have any information about Nasir, they inform the police. According to the post-mortem report, Rehman had a single shot in his head that caused his death.
