ISLAMABAD: Former chief justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar, on Sunday expressed displeasure over Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif’s media conference, asking him ‘to stay within limits.
In a statement, the ex-chief justice criticized Khawaja Asif and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for ‘speaking lies’, saying that these people would hide their faces if he started speaking the truth.
The former top judge asked the federal minister to ‘stay within limits of the constitution, ethics, and law’.
He said that the Chief Justice belongs not to any party but to the Supreme Court. PML-N leader are levelling allegations against others to hide their own corruption, he added.
He asked why PML-N did not challenge the 2018 polls if its leaders believed the elections were rigged.

Earlier in the day, Khawaja Asif criticized former CJP Saqib Nisar over the audio leaks, stating that recordings have exposed his enmity with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.
He said Saqib Nisar went too far in his enmity with Nawaz Sharif.
He added that the leaks have not only exposed the former top judge but also Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership.
