ISLAMABAD: Former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar has responded to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s allegations that he had banned projects started by the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government. Saqib Nisar denied the allegations, stating that he never halted or banned any projects started by the previous government.

In his statement, Nisar called the allegations made by the prime minister false and politically motivated. He also urged Shehbaz Sharif not to involve the judiciary in politics.

The controversy began when Shehbaz Sharif criticized Nisar for banning and halting the projects started by the PML-N government. He claimed that out of the 56 companies’ corruption cases, no corruption had been proven in even one company.

Nawaz Sharif criticizes Saqib Nisar for disqualifying him

Former premier and PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif also criticized Nisar and other retired judges for the reasons for disqualifying him from national politics. He urged the nation to seek answers from those responsible for his disqualification.

The allegations and counter-allegations have further fueled the ongoing political tensions between the PML-N and the judiciary. The PML-N has accused the judiciary of being biased against them, while the judiciary has been accused of overstepping its boundaries and intervening in political matters.

The situation remains tense, with both sides refusing to back down. The controversy has once again raised questions about the relationship between the judiciary and the government and its impact on the country’s political stability.
