RAWALPINDI: One terrorist was killed while two others were injured during an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) by security forces in the Sibi district of Southwestern Balochistan province of Pakistan, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release here on Friday.
According to ISPR, from 30 March 2023 onwards, an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) has been initiated to intercept a group of terrorists operating in the general area of Noshman, South of Sibi Balochistan Province. “The Terrorists were linked with targeting innocent civilians in the localities along with harassment of owners of the coal mines,” ISPR said.
Based on credible information, a number of ambushes had been laid along different routes in the area frequented by terrorists for the last two days, ISPR stated. Meanwhile, a party of three terrorists was intercepted while moving toward their hideout, ISPR added.
Security forces’ successful operation in Balochistan
According to ISPR, on being blocked, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces. During the ensuing heavy exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed while two others were injured, along with a cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered, ISPR said.
