ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader Fawad Chaudhry has said that for reviving sustainable peace in the region Pakistan should talk with Afghanistan and both the countries should come up with a permanent solution to the issue and the ongoing militancy.
Fawad Chaudhry said this while addressing a press conference along with other senior leaders of PTI in Islamabad on Thursday. He rejected allegations of Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, who, in a recent statement on the floor of the assembly, blamed Imran Khan and his regime for the policy they adopted for Afghanistan.
He added that the PTI government had a better policy for Afghanistan. Fawad further said that during PTI tenure Afghanistan experienced regime change, and Pakistan had cordial relations with the country.
Talk for sustainable peace
Fawad Chaudry further said that Imran Khan was the only leader who had a better understanding of Afghanistan, and stated that Imran always pressed for a political solution to the issue instead of military action for sustainable peace in the region.
The PTI leader also blamed Prime Minister Shehbaz Shaiorf and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while visiting United States several times but not visiting Afghanistan even once.
PTI leader also said that the government instead of resolving the economic issues was busy with political victimization.
He also condemned the government for arresting senior leader Sheikh Rasheed and journalist Imran Riaz, adding that such moves will further deteriorate the situation in the country.
