ISLAMABAD: Chutney is unique to Asian cuisines, especially Indian and Pakistani food.
It is used regularly in our food, from snacks to meals. Chutney is a mixture of different flavours extracted from vegetables and fruits, which can turn any food into a ‘flavour bomb.’
Tamarind and plum chutney is very common in the Monsoon season, and people enjoy it with snacks, especially Pakoras, Samosas, and Channa Chat in rainy weather.
Here is this delicious chutney recipe so everyone can enjoy it at home.
Ingredients;
- Dry Plum 250 grams (Soaked for 2 Hours)
- Tamarind 250 grams with 1/4 Water (Soaked for 2 Hours)
- Sugar 1 Cup salt 1tbsp (as to taste)
- Chili flakes 1 tbsp
- Cumin powder 1 tbsp
- Chopped ginger
- White vinegar
Recipe;
Soak Plums with some water and mash it with your hand.
Add on tamarind paste.
Add tamarind paste, plums, sugar, chopped ginger, and white vinegar in a pan and cook it on a low flame.
Add in salt, and the chutney is ready. Enjoy this sweet and sour chutney with your snacks and meals, and enjoy the rainy season.
