KARACHI: Pakistan’s low-cost carrier, Fly Jinnah, in collaboration with UAE-based Air Arabia, will jointly establish an aviation training academy in Pakistan.

The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has approved a joint venture between Fly Jinnah Services (Pvt) Ltd and Air Arabia Academy LLC to establish a Fly Jinnah T3 Flight Academy (Private) Limited.

The approval comes after a pre-merger review under the Competition (Merger Control) Regulations 2016. The CCP confirmed that the transaction is international in scope and will not affect competition within the sector.

As per the agreement, both parties will jointly invest in the new company to establish the training institute.

It is pertinent to mention that Fly Jinnah is a Pakistani airline and a joint venture company between the Lakson Group and Air Arabia Group based in Pakistan.

Air Arabia is the Middle East and North Africa’s first and largest low-cost international airline based in Sharjah, UAE.

It is expected that the independent training institute would improve both the availability and quality of aviation training services in Pakistan.

Last Fly Jinnah had received official approval from Bangladesh to operate direct flights between Karachi and Dhaka, marking a significant advancement in air connectivity between the two South Asian nations.
