ISLAMABAD: Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski announced Wednesday that the supply of American arms to Ukraine through Poland has returned to its previous levels.
The American military base near Rzeszow, in southeastern Poland, about 100 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, is now receiving its regular supply of weapons for Ukraine, according to Anadolu Ajansi.
This comes after the US decided to lift the suspension on military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine, following ceasefire talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday between US and Ukrainian officials.
Ceasefire proposal
As part of these talks, Ukraine agreed to a 30-day ceasefire proposal.
Earlier this month, the US had halted the delivery of military aid and intelligence to Ukraine after a tense meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated on Wednesday in Ireland that the US will now “have contact” with Russia regarding the agreement made with Ukraine.
“We all eagerly await the Russian response and urge them strongly to consider ending all hostilities,” Rubio said. “If they say no, it’ll tell us a lot about what their goals are and what their mindset is.”
